The sticker on the album says: “Rock Album of the Year”, a statement I can fully support and agree with. The true dinosaurs of rock (342 years combined) show that they have not forgotten how to write an action-packed studio album that features all the classic Deep Purple virtues and sounds that made them so influential and important to the entire rock scene.

A big fat analogue walls of sound with the guitar sound nice and crisp upfront from the spring-chicken in the band; Steve Morse along with Don Airey’s Hammond and keyboards always present set the tone. The rhythm section is tight and Ian Gillian sings like it’s 1972 all-over again…

Deep Purple are as vibrant and current as ever, and they have managed to deliver an album that tops the predecessor Now What!?!. From the very hard and heavy opener ‘Time for Bedlam’ to the very last seconds of the magnificent blues stomper ‘Roadhouse Blues,’ they deliver an absolute stunner of an album.

When I kicked this site off back in 2003, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has become. I am very proud of what we've done and achieved over the years. Musically I have a soft spot for 80s inspired hard rock, but my favourite music and bands are all to be found in the progressive universe these days.
