After a mini CD ”Machine men” and one full length CD “Scars & Wounds” on the small Finish label Dynamic Arts Records, Machine Men are back with a new Record label (Century Media), and a brand new CD “Elegies”.

This five piece from Finland was formed back in 1998, and released a few demos before doing the mini CD. Machine Men are not your typical Finish power metal band (Sonata Arctica, Stratovarious). Machine Men are heavily inspired by Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson. The music is darker than your typical Iron Maiden track, but it would fit perfectly onto one of the last 3 Bruce Dickinson albums “Accident Of Birth”, “The Chemical Wedding” or “Tyranny Of Souls”.

As a huge Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson freak I just love this stuff, especially the track “Dream & Religion”, which kicks off with a really mean riff. Is “Apathy” maybe a lost track from “Dance Of Death”??? “October”, “Daytime Theatre”, “Doors Of Resurrection” & “From Sunrise To Sunset” are also total killer tracks, no fillers on this album.

And to end it all there is a great cover version of Bruce Dickinson’s “Freak”. To all the metal heads that are coming to Wacken, see you at the Machine Men gig.

The music kicks ass and the production kicks ass, so what are you waiting for? Get this album now!
