This is probably Flotsam and Jetsam’s best album since, well…ever. With a variation ranging from death metal riffing (“Straight to Hell”) to pure power ballad (“Bathing In Red”), “Dreams of Death” is a display of all of the Flots’ strengths and qualities and is a welcome return to a will to give it full throttle and lots of double bass drum.

For the first time in years, Eric A.K. really proves that he is one of the best vocalists in metaldom. And he really is – to the point where you get goose bumps. Especially in a song like “Childhood Hero”, he gets chillingly near sounding like someone who really means what he’s saying.

“Dreams of Death” has something on offer both to old skool fans as well as new fans who are not afraid of a bit of melody mixed with power.

Do yourself a favour and check it out.
