Being a long time fan of Balance Of Power, I really don't see the point of this boxset release from the band ... I have their entire backcatalogue, so I know all the songs on the best of CD (in a remastered version), but to new listeners, this is a great way to get to know this sadly overlooked band from England. The songs selected are from their first 4 albums, not a single song from their latest "Heathen Machine".

Included in this boxset is also a live recording from a concert in Germany with a crowd of maybe 200 metalheads, the recording is OK - nothing special and the songs featured focus mainly on new stuff, but we are treated with great versions of "Ten More Tales Of Grand Illusion", "Wake Up Call" and "Day Breaker" - cool to hear John K's version of Lance King songs ... BUT I hate the arena crowd screaming between the songs - some honesty would have been better here!

The DVD offers the same live show, some bootleg footage, the story so far and an insight into how the band works.

I think this a great value for your money, a good way for new fans to get into this great band, and if I were new to this band I would surely rate this release a lot higher (80). BUT I am left a bit dissapointed with this boxset ... only 1 hour of live recording and no new songs. So objectively I rate this as a great value for your money, but to old fans there really isn't that much to be exited about ...
