Recorded at: Studio Fabriken
Video clip: Rapid Death
Review: 74/100 @ PoM.dk
Ever wanted to find out what inspired a particular song?

Was it based on personal experience or simply passive observation?

What happened in the recording studio or on stage to make one song sound different from the rest?

These are just some of the question bands and musicians attempt to answer in Line 'em Up - the newest page of The Power Of Metal.Dk.

This is where your favourite bands comment on their albums, track by track, because as someone once said, “Ideas are the building blocks of ideas”.

Enjoy!

Here’s a chance for you to tell our readers about your new self titled album: "Vornth".

But could you please start off by introducing the readers to the band?

Vornth – We are Vornth!

Could you please give us some info on the album: Where did you record the album and who has produced and mixed it?

Vornth –  “Vornth” was recorded in Studio Fabriken by our friend and fifth member Michael Thorén in May 2012. Michael is a professional producer since the 70´s and he does all kinds of music, big and small artists. –But he has his heart in the cauldron of “Pure Thrashng Speed Metal”…hehe We produced and mixed it together with him. We play very complex music and cannot work with wimps. It was recorded in four days with vocals and everything.

And now onto your new album track-by-track, what inspired you, and what do what to express with this song etc. –

01. 2740
Vornth – Stainless steel melts at 2740 celsius. It symbolizes a birth of something new. - The birth of this record on your plate. It is to involve the listener more into the record. The ravens were recorded outside my window. It represents our hometown Uddevalla. – Also the wind…

02. Evil Blood
Vornth – A vow to ourselves to live life at its fullest. – As destructors of the order and liars. It is written by Erik and Erik together in 2008, we pushed it as over the top as we could. It is meant to feel like you are on one side of a fist. – Choose your side!

03. Rapid Death
Vornth – Written in 2004. -The lack of dignity in humanity always pisses me off! This song is about the world burning. - We flee like rats and never think that there is nothing to return to, one could easy blame the “God-gene”! hrrm hrrm haha puke

04. Rip Rip Rip
Vornth – Written in 2003. Same theme as Rapid Death, but also about lobotomy of youths that take place all over the world. – Stuff them full with drugs and then they are ready to become adults? Without never gotten a chance to gather experience on their own? If you have a profile on the internet is that who you are? – I vote against!

05. Darkness and Steel
Vornth – Written in 2005. It deals with a serial killer. I play the killer and on some parts the teller. This serial killer makes the victims come to him, and he makes them wanting him to kill them. He looks after them and they grow to love him as their fate. The man hates himself but he is too addicted to the rush to commit suicide. – I know many writes about the topic, but I have an interest in criminology. I tried it to sort of making it a film with differences in harmonies and mood.

06. Spit Black Fire
Vornth – Written in 2006. It is about not being ashamed over whom and what you are and what you believe and to express it! – Silence is for wimps and soulless collectualls.

07. Devil
Vornth – Written in 2009 I think. I only remember waking up with a ghost light leaving the room. I picked up the guitar and played it. – Totally sober. –I have never been so sober…

08. Bleed
Vornth – Written by Erik and Me in 2008. Again he wrote the first part and I picked up an old part of a song I wrote in 2001 and put them together. I think this song shows something that many bands and their critics are lacking, namely talent and balls! It is about a young man trying to do his best and to develop a path to do what he truthfully loves. – Hearing how fucking useless he is, he never listens. He finds the path.

09. Metal Skies
Vornth – Written in 2008. It is about a new better and superior mankind arrives on earth and welds the old one in a tank with water. As a sacrifice to their gods, the circle starts to close once again...

10. Axe Murder
Vornth – Written in 2005. It is about an axe and a murderer and a combination.

11. Death's Horse
Vornth – Written in 2001 and 2010. The title came about since it is a galloping riff. It is a song about fate and justice. – To often choose not to listen to idiots. – Can you accept a fate, yourself have created?

12. Grave of the Living
Vornth – Written in 2011. It is about people that live with a shadow of fear and control. So they accept the lesser, the standard and the shortcuts in life. They are many, and shortcuts are smaller, they get stuffed and suffocate on their each other’s farts. Hirr hirr hirr

Tell us a bit about the artwork – who made it etc. and how important do you feel it is to have a cool artwork?

Vornth – A man from Mexico called Jo. I don’t know the last name because I can’t read it. I bought the painting some years back. When I saw it I knew it would be the cover of our album. It shows a sacrifice and a birth. One the back of the record the triangles symbolizes the womb. The layout was made by Luca Marchetti of Iron Tyrant Records. “Cool artwork” is quite important I guess, since the cover is a window between the creator and the buyer/listener. -Maybe more in sub-genres, where the true art is created.

–Who the fuck cares about One direction and their covers (which they haven’t chosen themselves) that is over 15 years old?

Any last words you want to round this interview off with?
