Style: Melodic Power Metal
Release date: 2004

Elvenpath is hailing from Frankfurt, Germany. They were formed in 2001 and released their first demo-CD called ‘2002’ the year after.

On the live front they have played with Savallion Dawn, Wizard, Majesty, Cast Away, Skyclad, Custard, Thunderbolt and Sabaton.

‘Gateways’ contains only five tracks but they are all between 7 minutes and 9 minutes long, and that takes this EP up to 41 minutes.

Elvenpath delivers a fine piece of well-played Melodic Power Metal that takes us around Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth and Fates Warning just to name a few.

‘Gateways’ holds all the typical elements of Power Metal. Great melodic guitar riffs, fast rhythms and clear vocals. The production could have been better but hey this is a private album and not the new Dream Theater.

Don’t fail to visit the bands website and listen to some of the tunes posted there. ‘Gateways’ are available for 5 Euro.

Recommended Track: The fast paced “Amazone Queen”.
