I don't know what is going on in the band, but if you receive an info sheet and the names of Sandra van Eldik (bass) and Andreas Völkl (guitar) are missing in the line up, there is smoke. I read that most of the instruments on this new album are played by bandleader and multi-instrumentalist René Berthiaume.

After a soundtrack kind of intro the first song "Was Lange Währt" immediately starts with the recognizable Equilibrium style, a mix of folk, heavy riffs and the harsh singing of Robse in his own native language. Most of the songs are rather epic, bombastic and orchestral, sometimes with flutes, pipes and choir singing. There are two songs that are rather different from the lot. There is "Heavy Chill" with a typical polka (think Finntroll) rhytmn and the almost danceable track "Wirthaus Gaudi". Before these two tracks there is the very happy sounding song "Uns'rer Flöten Klang" and with a beer in the hand; a typical festival track if you ask me. Another album without a lot of surprises, but with a perfect execution and a very good sound. If you are a fan of the band, you will no doubt like this.

This is bombastic epic pagan metal the way it was invented.
