Neither one nor the other is something that could be said about this release. Beneath is a Swedish thrash metal project by 3 friends. It is melodic, it sounds like thrash at times, it has a metalcore sauce and sometimes it leans towards death metal. Grunts, hysteric shouting, cleaner kind of singing, it all passes by. The music is mostly mid tempo and there are some relations with The Haunted. In one of the faster songs "Fear Vs Hate" I hear some hysteric parts that make me think of Tourniquet. For an independent release it all sounds o.k., but I think that if they would have the same recording possibilities as a band like Exodus it would have sounded much heavier and tighter.

Next time I skip the second part of "Evertyhing Ends", what a whining false part is that? After the 12 minutes long track "The Antidote" I still don't know what to think of this album. It has enough variety, maybe even too much for me and the second thing is that there isn't a song that really sticks. After listening a few times again I have to conclude that this isn't really an album for me. Enough musical skills are involved and there isn't a real bad song, although some are really too long in my opinion.

You should check this out and make up your own mind about it.
