Power of Metal.dk Review

The Resistance
Rise From Treason
Style: Hardcore/Metalcore
Release date: 25 January, 2013
Playing time: 12:40

I don't know about you, but when you combine the forces of two former In Flames members (Jesper Strömblad and Glenn Ljungström), a former The Haunted shouter (Marco Aro) as well as a an ex-Grave drummer, I'd expect something special and highly explosive to occur. We're talking years of experience and genre-defining creativity put together!

But, no, it's nothing special in particular. Although executed professionally and effectively enough, all this EP is is a disappointingly common salvo of hardcore/metalcore, i.e. the sort of releases we've heard a thousand times by now and really don't need new purveyors of.

Probably entertaining for a night out on the town, but in no way mind-blowing or particularly convincing creatively. A shame, that.
