Last Tribe is one of Sweden's best kept secrets in the heavy metal genre. Between 2000-2003 they released three albums: "The Ritual", "Witch Dance" and "The Uncrowned" and they are still in my favourite list of heavy metal albums. The man behind that project was the Swedish guitar genius Magnus Karlsson. After two albums with Starbreaker he joined the German metal icons in Primal Scream 2008, but has done several contributions on the Allen/Lande trilogy, Bob Catley, Kiske/Sommerville albums and on and on.

His own new project is called Magnus Karlsson's Free Fall and is full-smacked with melodious metal and of course with a lot of tasty ear candy for all us fans of guitar playing in the higher technical levels. The guest list of vocalists is very impressive; Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob), Ralph Scheepers (Primal Fear), Tony Harnell (TNT, Starbreaker), Rick Altzi (Masterplan, At Vance), David Readman (Pink Creame, Voodoo Circle), Mark Boals (The Codex, Yngwie Malmsteen), Rickard Bengtsson (Last Tribe), Herman Saming (A.C.T) and Mike Andersson (Full Force, Cloudscape). Magnus does the vocals himself on three tracks and he sings surprisingly well.

Anyhow, this solo project is a re-birth, because Magnus' huge musical energy
is finally unleashed and his song writing has been tailored to fit all his vocal friends voices. This is truly an album that will be in my car, at work, in my iPod, for a long, long time. The preview on YouTube fulfilled my expectations and surpassed them. With every spin I discover new stuff and new advanced guitar loops that tickles my ear nerves.

This a complete piece of metal art that definitely will be on my best of 2013 album list this year and my ears are smiling!!

Very high quality throughout and all songs are packed in a flawless production. I can't pick out any best track this time, because every damn song on the list is true gems and pearls to enjoy. A top album!

A very high rating from me and of course given purchase, if you like melodic hard rock / metal.
