When I looked at the cover artwork for this CD for the first time, I kind of reckoned that I'd be in for an ear bashing. And right I was!

Without actually bringing anything new to the genre, this Swiss five-man army shoot barrages of merciless, leaden death metal into your ears. Deep Trace, third tune of the CD, finally give you some rest from the salvos of death and allow space for a bit of groove until the thunder soon pummels on again.

With snippets of sound from horror films, Defaced add and extra little something, and that's good too. It just adds to the gore concept these guys are doing.

If you like relentless, not too technical but still tight and well-played death metal the good old fashioned way, then head over to Defaced's homepage and give them a go.
