Helix and Anvil were the first heavy metal giants from Canada in the 80's and the baton has been passed forward by them to the young aggressive band called 'Striker', which shows that the Canadians really have a tradition of this raw, aggressive and wholehearted heavy metal. On their third album they mix melodic metal songs and classy high energetic speed metal tracks. It's hard not to rise my fist and sing-along to the choruses. The energy is so captivating and the catchy guitar riffs are full of youthfulness.

'Forever' grabbed my neck immediately and it's full throttle from the first seconds. Brilliant guitars and high tempo do turn this into an excellent intro song to the album. 'Let it Burn' makes me thing of 'Riot' and the early 'Def Leppard'. This song must be a blast on the live stage.

It's hard to sit still and not nod/bang your head to 'Lethal Force', which may be the best song on the album. Melodic 'It Could Be Worse' is a progressive metal track full of smashing guitars and wonderful tempo-changes. Traditional NWOBHM (read Iron Maiden sound) is my impression of 'Fight For Your Life'. Clear, high vocals, fast snappy guitars and hard working rhythm section and it's rocking as hell! Striker stacks the powerful tracks all the way to the end, but my own favourite songs are in the first half.

Fans of Saxon, Annihilator and Exciter have a new band to pay attention to...
