I reckon 14 years as the female voice of a band like Cradle Of Filth teaches you a thing or two about A. professionalism and B. putting songs together. With this digital-only three-song release Sarah Jezebel Deva does just about everything right. All three tracks live and breathe metal and they are at the same time catchy as hell.

Inviting Bjørn 'Speed' Strid from Soilwork to add clean vocal to Lies Define Us works like a charm, whereas the inclusion of Dani Filth as backing on This Is My Curse is a near-orgiastic experience for an old Cradle fan like my self. There's never any doubt that Sarah's the one controlling the game, though, even if Dani grunts and screams for dearer life. Fantastic song!

Special guests aside, the most catchy song on this EP is in fact When It Catches Up With You where Sarah handles the vocal duties all by herself. Wonderful voice she has.

I'm loving this. Voice, music, production, just excellent. Only problem is that it's over so bloody soon!
