As the accompanying promo letter so rightly points out, there are similarities between German death metal outfit Moridigan and both Suffocation and Deicide. The comparison makes sense in particular when it comes to the vocal effort. When it comes down to the style of music, then I'm not so sure. Yes, there are some similarities, but to claim that the technical level is on par with the two aforementioned bands is an exaggeration.

Yes, I like this album, but mainly because it has a raw and dark production. It holds an evil freshness, but it's not a revolution of the technical death metal genre, even if the melodic acoustic pieces are a bit of a surprise and really nice.

In short: Recommended for fans of raw, technical death metal with a touch of Deicide and Suffocation. Approved effort.
