Within These Dreams
Style: Heavy Metal
Release date: 7 December , 2012
Playing time: 67:47

The re-release of Heavenward's debut album from 1991 is spiced up with a brand new song as the opening song; 'System Going Down', a thrash metal track in a modern style and the German metal veterans have truly made a full blood crusher, which is kicking my ass. Stefan Kessel on vocals is a power pack; a singer with a high pitch, and in the fast paced songs the guitars riffing are as hell and the driven bass almost get a speeding ticket. An exciting acquaintance, which passed me completely.

The ultrahigh song is at King Diamond level and the typical German heavy metal amount of swing from the early 90's may not be as fresh now as it was back then. The rest of the songs on the album are from -91 and they don't keep my interest like the opening song did.

The clattering double bass drums and blazing guitars in awkward attempts to sound like Metallica did when they peaked. Unfortunately, it does not sound good. The production is a disaster. I skip track after track to find a song that has something to cheer about. 'Within These Walls' is an alright song with some nice guitars and some melodic chorus. I'm sorry, but this isn't an album I can recommend you to buy.

Buy 'System Going Down' if it's possible... That track is the best on the album!!

Fans of early Helloween, Mercyful Fate or speedy German heavy metal might appreciate this better.

Line-up: Stafan Kessel - vocals, Bernd Gröters - guitar, Oliver Müller - bass and Thomas Kelleners on drums.
