My first impression of the new album from Mystic Prophecy with the title Ravenlord is that here is an album that is well played and well produced. The guitars played by Marcus Pohl and Constantine are a effective riff machine, supported by the rhythm-section of drummer Claudio Sisto and bass player Connie Andreszka. The four of them does that this German metal band has an American sound and drive. But singer Roberto Dimitri Liapakis makes the songs seem monumental and European with powerful and melodic vocal. And this mix of American and European styles makes this album sublime.

Some of the songs like title track "Ravenlord" and "Wings of Destiny" should be on every playlist in the World. In "Dammed Tonight" they speed things up with nice trash metal with a slow melodic chorus and it works perfect.

All in all a nice piece of work they have done!
