Lost In Thought hails from Wales and plays progressive power metal with a few symphonic elements. And there seems to be thirteen to the dozen of those bands coming out at the moment; heavily influenced by Dream Theater and in this case some by Evergrey and Symphony X as well.

And the thing is - they are very skilful technicians, have a very good vocalist, are capable of writing well-constructed music pieces and the album has a good sound. So they do bring a lot to the table and in a convincing way, but they do at the same time sound like a million other bands and are delivering a product that simply is too identical with many other album releases in this genre.

"Opus Arise" is no opus magnum, but still a very solid building block for Lost In Thought. Now they have to step out of the shadows of their influences and become more independent... if they are capable of that then they might gain ground, and I look forward watching their progress because the talent is clearly there.
