Tony Harnell & The Mercury Train
Round Trip
Rating
Style: Acoustic Melodic Rock
Release date: July 2nd 2010

“Round Trip” is a stripped down, reinvented retrospective of Tony Harnell's past classics originally recorded with TNT, Westworld and Starbreaker, with one brand new song. This might not be what some people are after but I must say this is a fantastic album, epically if you like the said mentioned bands and Tony's vocals. That being said I can see some people not liking "Round Trip" at all. It is very stripped down & very soft, even a little country "Satellite" is a very good example of that.

But it is a breath of fresh air to hear classic TNT songs like "10,000 Lovers, Intuition, Northern Lights, Lonely Nights & Satellite" stripped down and meshed up into different arrangements but without losing that classic sound. Basically "Round Trip" is 75% TNT songs with 2 or 3 Westworld songs and a beautiful new track called "Anywhere But Here" which is very psychedelic, "The Beatles" moment. But it is no tribute, acoustic best of. NO!!!!, "Round Trip" is a stand alone album. Tony's voice is in very fine form I must say.

Bottom line, if you like TNT & Tony Harnell and are looking for something to chill out too then this album is for you.
