A track like Infamy epitomizes what metal music is all about. It has both speed and mid-tempo groove, subsonic blasts, little surprises in the shape unexpected timeshifts and plain, raw power.

And Swedish ur-death metallians Evocation just have ballls all over. It's powerful as hell. It's Entombed the old-fashioned, dirty way. It has a tint of deathcore that should allow for fans of Heaven Shall Burn to enjoy this too. It's grim, powerful and groovy as hell. It's Evocation.

Eventhough I'm still a bigger fan of 'Dead Calm Chaos', this one is definitely one of the best death metal discs this year as was 'Dead Calm Chaos' in 2008.

The 29th of October is going to be an expensive day, dear death metal fans - not only this hammer is out on that day, you also have to get your greasy little fingers on the new Facebreaker. Cyclone Empire is really firing some heavy shots.

Ace album. Buy it before your mates!
