Die hässlichen Kinder
Rating
Style: Medieval - Rock/Metal/Punk
Release date: November 3rd 2009

2 months ago I reviewed Saltatio Mortis, medieval rock/metal with German lyrics. Here is another German combo and they are also playing the same kind of style. Still I find this one a little less interesting than Saltatio Mortis. Why, maybe because Saltatio Mortis was first and I can't pull another record in the same kind of genre? Perhaps, but after a few spins it isn't that bad and there are even some songs that make you smile.

The music is a mix of industrial, new wave, metal and melodic punk. Because of the lyrics you get also the idea that Rammstein and Oomph are bands they like. Of course the medieval instruments such as bagpipes and Shephard's pipes can be found in several songs. Sometimes they use English lyrics too, but that does not make the music more or less interesting.

Fans of this genre should check it out, there are worse records than this one.
