This album by RESURRECTION called ’Embalmed Existence’ is a re-release of a underground death metal gem originally released in 1993.

It’s remastered and comes with 9 bonus tracks and the music is very old school death metal. Just think of a mix between Malevolent Creation and early Suffocation and a few others... and don’t laugh in my face, but some of the riffs actually remind me of Obituary.

Well... I’m somewhere between heaven and hell when it comes to this CD. There’s a lot of exciting guitar runs to be found but most of the songs are mid-tempo and a bit repetitive and ’Embalmed Existence’ really needs a lot of spins to grow but I don’t feel like playing it over and over again.

Another annoying thing is that every song has a spoken intro... sounds like the skeleton from “Tales of the Crypt”... a bit annoying.

Not bad... but not essential either.
