Well... first of all I just have to tip my hat to Metal Blade Records ‘cause they really know where to find first class metal bands. RAZOR OF OCCAM is certainly one of them and I’m listening to the Australia/British outfit’s debut full-length album called ‘Homage to Martyrs’ right now.

What we get here is, as written above, first class metal. We are talking black/thrash metal that kicks serious ass. Just mix bands like Kreator, early Slayer and the likes, with the power and evilness of a black metal band and then I think you have a pretty good idea what to expect.

The vocals are harsh, as they should be, and every single track on ‘Homage to Martyrs’ (8 of them) is packed with excellent guitar runs. Just pay a little attention and give this album a spin or 5 and you’ll see how great this album is.

The first 4 tracks kicks ass... but just wait until you reach the last 4 tracks... then you you’ll be knocked to the floor and then slammed up against the nearest wall. I know it all comes down to a matter of taste but the last 4 tracks is simply the best what this genre has to offer... in my humble opinion of course. Just take a listen to the fucking excellent “Flames Bearers”... a track with guitar runs you wish you’ve written yourself and a drum pattern that will make you bang your head like crazy. One of the best black/thrash metal tracks I’ve ever heard in my life. Fucking excellent, to put it simple.

The production is fantastic too. Crystal clear yet powerful. So there’s absolutely no reason not to order this album right now.
