GODSLAVE hail from Germany and ’Out of the Ashes’ is a 5 track EP packed with old school thrash metal with no surprises.

Well, maybe they repeat the riffs over and over again in the first track, the title-track, “Out of the Ashes”, but it’s still a fucking great track if you’re into early SLAYER, METALLICA or EXODUS. The next track is called “Slaves to the Black” and the opening riff could very well have been written by METALLICA. They shifts from mid-tempo to up-tempo in your face thrash and back again. Nice one.

The best track is up next... “Wings of Wrath”. An up-tempo thrash-hammer were the riffs are fired at you with almost utter precision. It sounds a bit simple... but it’s very effective, boys and girls.

The last two tracks; “Dead Reckoning” and “Where the sun sleeps” are not bad too, but not quite up there with the first 3 tracks.

I’m sure that some reviewers will slag this EP down because of the lack of surprises... but F**K them. This is great old school thrash metal and a lot of fun. So check ‘em out now.
