I would have been very pleased to tell you that this record is going to be at the top of my years end list. That the songs Buried Inside makes are well written songs with first class arrangements and ones that stick in your mind and that the vocals of N. Von Shaw are very variable and are unique in this genre.

I would have been very delighted to tell you that this band has put new elements into the modern (metal-)core music and that you should buy this even if it would cost you your last penny. But..... I can't, because they do opposite of what they should have done. After 2 songs the vocals completely make me throw up, I'd rather hear the neighbours dog barking at the postman. The songs have a beginning and an end, because there is a quiet moment between them, but a song has to be more than a few instruments playing together.... choruses for example? At least I understand why they couldn't find song titles for their songs.

On the info that goes with it, they recommend this album to fans of: Isis, Mastodon, Neurosis, Pelican, Cult of Luna, Explosions in the Sky, Clutch, High on Fire and Mogwai. I would say, take a listen first before you purchase it, perhaps this is your thing, but I know for certain it isn't mine.

On one thing the info sheet was right: "Spoils of Failure" is as stunning as it is unforgettable. Indeed, I won't forget this one fast....., I will leave it for the Vultures...
