Anything stemming from the pipes of one of the ur-fathers of death metal, Kam Lee (Massacre/Mantas/Death/Denial Fiend), I would expect to be old-school.

The debut album from his new project with the four Swedes Rogga Johansson (Paganizer/Demiurg/Ribspreader), Morgan Lie (Naglfar/Hate Ammo) and Ronnie Bjornstrom (Ribspreader/Hate Ammo) IS definitely old-school death metal, but also surprisingly fresh and modern-sounding.

What we have here is a clash of two old-schools; Swedish death metal and Florida ditto come together and create a brutal marriage of cannibalistic horror death. The red tread is the old-school, but with a large dose of versatility. Take for instance the track The Saw is Family – I don’t know what to call it exactly, but one suggestion could be gore-hop. Damn, it grooves.

‘Feast of Flesh’ is a focused and efficient effort and illustrates just how much power death metal granddad Kam Lee’s voice has. Do not underestimate the dynamics of this man’s throat! The voice certainly makes a difference.

For those who enjoy the gory take on life and a dose of brutal death metal!
