Die-hard BLODDBOUND fans will no doubt have the band’s first two releases; ’Nosferatu’ (2006)

and ‘Book of the Dead’ in their possessions... and will no doubt be quite eager to get their hands on BLOODBOUND’S latest release ‘Tabula Rasa’.

But what’s new in the BLODDBOUND camp? –Well... Urban Breed is back in the fold and doing a splendid job on this CD! But what about the music... are there any changes in the sound? -Yes, they have slowed the pace down a bit and sounds now a tad heavier and tad thrashier. But you still recognize them with the very first listen. So don’t worry, they haven’t changed their sound completely, however I’m left a bit disappointed this time.

On their first two albums, the music was faster and packed with huge and catchy choruses. One highlight after another. Don’t worry there are not one single fill to be found on ‘Tabula Rasa’, but every single song is on the exact same level. I miss the outstanding catchiness there are is so ever present on ‘Nosferatu’ and ‘Book of the Dead’.

Some might call it a more mature album and all that crap... all I know is that ‘Tabula Rasa’ is a quite good album with an excellent production, but still not as strong as their first two releases.

Check it out.
