Promising artwork, ditto album title. Add to that very, very unsubtle song titles like I Masturbate to Jesus Christ, Fuck the Romantic – Fuck the Gothic, Sadistic Penetration and My Penis will be your Opera. Could be good, could be very good.

But, alas, it isn’t that terribly interesting. ‘Worship of the Soul of Disgust’ is the result of the efforts of ex-Maze of Torment singer Pete Flesh (vox, guitars, bass), drummer Flingon and Peter Tätgren behind the knobs.

In my ears, the nine tracks of this third album from Flesh sound like a fairly uninspired round of deathy thrash which could have been released anytime between 1991 and now. Moreover, Pete Flesh's voice is uncharacteristic and rather un-dynamic.

This is an alright release with moments of coolness, nothing more, nothing less.

Recommended: Sadistic Penetration has a nice groove and stands out from the rest.
