Sometimes you are totally caught off guard and an album you have no expectations for at all blows you away. Two of a Kind is a new melodic rock combo made up of experienced musicians from the Dutch rock scene, puppet master controlling things is Fred Hendrix, who some of you might know from Terra Nova, where he is the main songwriter and vocalist.

With Two of a Kind he has been given the opportunity to explorer new things like producing and working with new and fresh talent, sort of stepping out of the spotlight to let others shine. And does the two female vocalists Ester Brouns and Anita Craenmehr shine!

The plan was to form a band with a great melodic rock edge in a Boston meets Hearts kind of style, and in my book the plan has been executed successfully. First class melodic rock with catchy hooklines, great guitar work and two outstanding vocalists that outsings most of the competition in almost all areas.

Two of a Kind won't have quite the same effect that Slamer had on me last year, but this is a first class melodic rock album that I surely will give its fair share in the future, and if you like female fronted melodic rock then there no reason not to get this album.

In case you need more proof then put on the album turn up the volume and listen to brilliant rock songs like "Heaven can wait" or "Into the Fire", which have a very interesting and strong break in the middle.
