Nikki Puppet… can’t say I’ve ever heard of them. “Militant Mother” is their second album… their debut album is called “Puppet on a String”. I really did give this album a chance but I can’t say I’m into this kind of Rock music. The only band I can compare Nikki Puppet to is, Skunk Anansie… and believe me, I can’t STAND Skunk Anansie!

The promo-CD I’m sitting here with contains 11 tracks and most of them are rather forgettable but in a way…way better than bands like Skunk Anansie. So I’m sure that fans of this kind of Rock music are in for a treat and I have actually read a lot good things about them so I forced myself to listen to it over and over again… but I give up now. This is just not my kind of Rock.

The production is good and in my humble opinion the best track is “Paltry”. A track that reminds me a tad of Nina Hagen… I know it sounds ridicules but it actually reminds me of a Nina Hagen track. The worst track could very well be the cover of Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire”… mostly because I can’t stand Billy Joel.

But do check it out.

Next.
