This is exactly what happens when you offer a record deal to a psychotic!

Dave Martone, a Canadian guitarist, showcases STEVE VAI-influenced shredding although adding his own finesse; alien sounds and jazzy leads over Thrash rhythm guitars.

The whole concept relies on science fiction and in a strange way you feel a little abducted while listening. It sounds like Martone tries really, really hard to be original and visionary on the field of shredding but unfortunately this only creates a big distance to the listener. Maybe it’s just me, but I lose my concentration already after a few songs…

The sound is as perfect as can be; especially the rhythm section has a really nice production to it.

I would’ve preferred a little more listener-friendliness overall but I guess that would prove to conform for abductions and conspiration theories!  J
