Back in 2004, THE LADDER released a splendid album called “Future Miracles”. In the wasteland of mediocre releases this shining star was a dream come true!

Comprised of original members of FM the band has always secured a classic sound delivered with full conviction. Now, having added guitar-legend Vinny Burns (DARE, TEN) to the line-up, it seems like they’re finally able to take another leap forward.

Well, not quite perhaps! Cos’ while listening to the album a strange sensation came over me. I think this sensation is called “boredom” by the vast majority! -:)

In a letdown of my expectations, I find myself struggling to reach the end of the CD… Although splendidly produced and performed, it all sounds so run-of-the-mill.

I miss the grand melodies and I really miss the energy which this band (as FM) once possessed.

On the positive side of things, there’s really nothing wrong with the band’s talent or sound, they just sound like they need a vacation!

Not a bad album musically, but not earth shattering at all!
