Iced Earth
Overture of the Wicked

Style: Power Metal
Release date: June 4th 2007

The 'Overture of the Wicked' single is a small appetizer for all the hungry Iced Earth fans for what's in store for us later on this year, when Iced Earth is releasing the first part of the Something Wicked story. 'Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1)' will be released in September followed by the second part in early 2008.

They have re-recorded the complete Something Wicked trilogy from the 'Something Wicked this Way comes' album and have brought new life to those 3 brilliant songs. Only new song on the single is the pretty straight forward Iced Earth tune "Ten Thousand Strong", which will also appear on the upcoming album in a bit different version, according to Mr. Shaffer himself.

I have been following them since I bought their demo tape many, many moons ago, and they continue to impress me, and this single just makes my hunger even bigger for what has to be one of the most important power metal albums of 2007.

I can't wait to hear the entire album - Jon Shaffer and Ripper Owens is a match made in heaven... and this single should be on top of every power metal fans shopping list!
