It you’re a fan of old school brake-for-no-fucking-body death metal, then you’ve come to the right place. ‘War of Attrition’, Dying Fetus’ latest full-length, is a true barrage of good old-fashioned death metal riffing, blast-beats and dual growls.

Please don’t expect anything new here. There isn’t. It’s like stepping back ten or fifteen years, really. This just plain cool musicianship and a band that stays true to what they’ve done over the past decade and when it’s done with such conviction, it earns a considerable slice of respect.

I can’t help thinking of Massacre’s ‘From Beyond’ when I listen to e.g. Raping The System – and there are several other comparable bands like Suffocation, comparisons I’m certain Dying Fetus aren’t sorry about.

Recommended listening for old-school death metal fans!
