Swedish Black (White) Metal band ADMONISH has released their second EP, and it’s called

“Insnärjd”. This EP contains 5 tracks and we get everything from “noisy” furious Black Metal, two acoustic pieces to almost Viking/Pagan/Folk influenced melodies.

“Insnärjd” opens with the majestic Tower of Strength and this track is absolutely breathtaking.

Even though we are talking extreme music here it contains a melody that overtakes you, to put it simple. There’s a enchanting atmosphere on this track and a catchiness that most Black Metal bands would kill for. Besides the mainly Black Metallic sounds there’s Pagan/Folk elements to pepper it, and I just can’t get enough of this track... I can listen to it over and over again.

Then we get at calm moment... an acoustic track called “A Glimpse”... 2 minutes of very calm music that surprises the listener, but suddenly they burst into ”Istid” ... a track that needs a few spins to grow but it will overtake you after a few listens.

Track 4 is called “Journey Into Afterlife” ... a track that I find very good, but somehow it comes down a tad “noisy”. The overall sound is quite weird, it’s a tad disappointing at first listen, and sounds pretty messy at times, but it wins a little with every spin.

2 minutes of beautiful acoustic music ends this EP. “Legacy” shows that ADMONISH really have a flair for melody and it really works for me when extreme metal bands shifts from pure and uncompromising, Black and Metallic music to acoustic and very melodic calm parts.

ADMONISH do have a huge potential and I can’t wait to hear what they can come up with next.

Absolutely recommended for every Black Metal fan who has a sense for both the extreme parts and for the melodic parts.
