VENI DOMINE was formed in 1987 and they has just released their fifth album called “23:59”.

To me VENI DOMINE is a modern and more atmospheric version of Candlemass. Blending the future with classic Doom and again with smooth soundscapes this album needed 5 to 6 spins in my CD-player before I was hooked. I was ready to throw it in the bin, but after a while it began to open up to me, and now I like it a lot.

The songs are catchy and to me a fresh input from what Doom Metal has to offer. This album should be saved for those times when you want to relax, to fade in and out of existence, while the music touches your soul.

Try putting it on while going to sleep, and feel yourself drifting away into the Doomy but at the same time catchy and very atmospheric world of VENI DOMINE.

I’m very impressed with the fact that this band manages to create Heavy, slow, but very catchy Doom… and just listen to the guitarist, Torbjörn Weinesjö… DAMN his solos sounds like a whirlwind…. impressive.

So if you are into Doom Metal, give this band a listen. It definitely leaves you craving for more.
