I can’t exactly say that Black Metal is my strongest side, but recently I heard a track from THE LEGION’S first album “Unseen From Creation” (2003) and this track is really good so I bought their latest offering “Revocation” just to check this band out. Most of the Black Metal bands I know have a poor production and most of the songs sound the same to me, but this Swedish band is a pleasant surprise.

We get 9 tracks… 9 very extreme Black Metal tracks, with a great production. I’m still impressed with the drummer, who is beating the crap out of his drums like there is no tomorrow. Damn… this music is extreme and fast. The riffs are fast but tight but they slow down when they feel it's appropriate.

If you hate extreme music like this, stay far away from THE LEGION because they offer us a really blastphemic album just like all of the tracks are written by the Devil himself.

This blazing hell trip is just super-evil and their music, to put it simple, destroys everything in sight. Even though the music is fast and evil there are lots of memorable riffs and passages to be found, but you really have to be into very… and I mean VERY extreme Metal to swallow this.

“Revocation” is all about hyper blast parts but there is a lot more than that going on here…they write complex songs with a lot of shifting tempos and riff changes that could melt iron and crush a wall of stone. It makes me very excited to get some more stuff by this band.

So, if you can’t get your music evil, extreme and Black enough, take a listen to this album and enjoy the Evil atmosphere and the brutal music that THE LEGION is creating here on “Revocation”. Fast, dark, atmospheric and in my humble opinion the best Black Metal album I have ever experienced.
