17 years after the last studio album and two Greatest Hits albums, Survivor are back with a brand new album recorded over a period of three months in Los Angeles at the end of 2005. This release of all new Survivor material meets the great demand of the existing fans who have been asking for years for new songs that could continue in the legacy of the great sound Survivor created in the past years.

I must admit that I’m not exactly a Survivor fan and I’m only familiar with “Caught in the Game” from 1983. This new album called, “Reach” is a mix of Melodic Rock and AOR and the three Rocking songs, “Fire Makes Steel”, “Nevertheless” and “Don’t Give Up” are enjoyable Melodic Rock songs but the rest is not above average in my opinion. Most of the tracks are way too soft for my taste… not that it is pure Pop-crap… but I miss a few more rocking songs on this album.

I shall spare you the details about every single track… 12 of them…and end this short review by telling you this; - If you are into Survivor, Melodic Rock and AOR I think that you can reach out for this album without getting disappointed. The rest of you should listen before you buy.
