Kelly Keagy, who gained grand recognition as drummer and singer for NIGHT RANGER released his first solo outing, ”Time Passes”, a couple of years back.

That album was a collection of recordings from the 1990s and lacked a real ”feel” to it, plus the production wasn’t carried out that well.

His latest album, ”I’m Alive”, showcases Kelly’s foothold on his own material and even though he also seems to explore rougher sounding formulas, his AOR-roots are very evident.

Jim Peterik (SURVIVOR, PRIDE OF LIONS) is used as a co-writer and one can really hear that Peteriks professional touch has a lot to say here.

Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE), Mike Aquino (MECCA, PRIDE OF LIONS), Michael Lardie (GREAT WHITE, NIGHT RANGER), Tommy Denander and Bruce Gaitsch are also implicated in the process and overall, this album is a really fine improvement for Kelly Keagy!

The only letdown is Kelly failing to create any substantial hits. All the songs are well-written but will barely be remembered years from now.

An album for the NIGHT RANGER / SURVIVOR fan!
