HEED was born in the fall of 2004 after singer Daniel Heiman and guitarist Fredrik Olsson decided to leave their former band Lost Horizon. They had a dream of creating heavier but still melodic music. HEED was completed by Tommy Larsson (bass), Ufuk Demir (drums) and Martin Andersson (guitar).

This is their debut album and it’s called “The Call” and was recorded between December 2004 and August 2005 with producer Tobias Lindell at Bohus Sound Studios, Sweden. The music there is to be found on this great release is very crunchy but still very Melodic Metal with memorable choruses and riffs.

It took me only a few minutes before I was hooked and now I can’t stop listening to this stunning album. I’m impressed with their ability to integrate Heavy, crunchy riffs with very memorable and melodic choruses without overdoing it.

Almost every song is first class Metal and I could easily write a very long and very, very boring review of every song (12 of them) but I won’t. I will let the music do the talking.

So, if you are into crunchy but Melodic Metal do your self a favour and check this album out when it hit the stores in June. This is a very good album… take my words for it!
