My expectations to guitar shredder Paul Gilbert’s new album called “Get out of my Yard” were very high, but why? Because this brand new release is his first all instrumental album and when I threw it in my CD-player I was expecting a “real guitar shredder metal album” with fantastic riffs and awesome guitar solo’s.

Now numerous listens after I’m disappointed. Of course Mr. Gilbert is a fantastic musician and DAMN; this guy can play the living crap out of most guitarist out there but out of 14 tracks only 3 of them are interesting. That’s not enough for me. I find my self doing other things while listening to this album… or skipping tracks.

Maybe this album is for musicians? It’s not for the average listener, I’m afraid. In my humble opinion a very anonymous Instrumental Rock album.
