Belphegor were founded back in 1993 and I must admit that I wasn’t really interesting in checking out there music earlier, but that’s my mistake. Shame on me. This 2-man band from Austria mix Black Metal with Death Metal in an awesome way. Their music is very “catchy”…. if you can use the term “catchy” in this kind of music?

The drums pounds away, the finest of Black Metal and Death Metal growls menace the listener and the guitars chop and sear away. I was really caught with my pants down… Damn, this is great stuff!

Even though that I find their music “catchy” I still find myself surrounded by Demons and the Devil himself when I listen to this fantastic release. There are songs on here that are certainly hymn-like, as in “Bluhtsturm Erotika” and “Belphegor - Hell’s Ambassador”, but don’t worry at all… the power is ever present.

“Seyn Todt in Schwarts” and “Pest Teufel Apokalypse” is extreme, fast, demonically possessed, brutal and pulverising. And the rest of the tracks? -You must be prepared for an onslaught of the finest Black/Death Metal that destroys everything in sight.

This CD ends with an instrumental track called “Das Pesthaus / Miasma Epilog” and it’s a fucking great track. Be ready to be taken down to Hell, because this track RULES!

Yes, a fine Black/Death Metal release indeed. With a brilliant production it is a deadly combination that makes for a wonderful musical experience.

Absolutely recommended for every Black/Death Metal fan out there. Buy 1 copy of it today! – No, wait… buy 10…. or 100… or 666  :)
