This
album has everything a good COF album needs: the lyrical eloquence of
Dani Filth, the fast parts, the slow parts, the straightforward
banging parts, the eerie synth parts, piano parts, haunting screams
and last but not least; a booklet brimming with inspiringly twisted
artwork. The
novelty on "Nymphetamine" is Dani’s duet with Liv Kristine
Espenaes Krull on the title track. I can’t help thinking of Nick
Cave’s collaboration with Kylie Minoque…only in a cooler version,
naturally. Apart
from this team work, there isn’t much new under the sun compared to
COF’s previous work, but, that said, any COF fan will appreciate
"Nymphetamine", and the pop features like the title track
might even attract new, young listeners. Recommended
tracks: “Nymphetamine”, “Medusa And Hemlock” and “Swansong For
A Raven” |
