Dawning

Some of you might be familiar with Archetype's "Dawning" CD, because it was released in 2000 in the US. Not being happy with the result, Archetype and their management decided that the album needed to be recorded once more to give justice to the great songs.

So much of 2001 was spent re-recording and re-arranging all 10 tracks, a deal was struck with Lucretia Records and the end result is this awesome CD! Everything has improved on this release both songwise, production-wise and the whole package - the CD is released in a cool deluxe digibook format.

Archetype is playing some crunchy US powermetal inspired by bands like Forbidden and Iced Earth - combining thrash with melody. From the opening riff of "Final Day" to the finishing chords of "Reflection" (which is the only new track compared to the first release), we are treated with excellent and powerful metal from a very promising young band, which the right support shoud raise quite a few eyebrows....

The albums masterpiece has to be the brilliant "Years Ago", simply great from the opening acoustic intro 'till the end clicking in at 12'30, but there's not a single bad track on the whole album, so if you are a fan of powermetal, then you should check this CD out, I am really enjoying every spin in my CD-player. EXCELLENT!
