Burning – “The P.I.D.” Files

Dutch old school heavy metal band Burning will release a new EP called The P.I.D. Files this winter. Burning already released a full length cd in 2016 called Nightmares.

The new 4-track EP has a lyrical concept about the rumors around Paul McCartney’s assumed death in 1966. In 1969 there appeared an article with the title: “Is Beatle Paul McCartney dead?” “in the collagepaper of Drake University Iowa.

On the internet you can read a lot about this conspiracy. In short the article claims that Paul is replaced by a lookalike. For the lyrics Burning cooperated with known novel writer Bronja Hoffschlag, who released the thriller “P.I.D” (Paul Is Dead) back in 2017. Burning is ready for the next step and will play the new songs for the first time live at the Holland Heavy Festival (with a.o. Picture and Vandale) at Iduna, Drachten.

Within 2 weeks the band will also release the new video to promote their new EP. It will be available as vinyl, tape and cd.

Once a metal head, always a metalhead. My parents thought it would only be a period, but they were wrong. I quit to explain the beauty of metal music to others that are not into metal, because it is something you can't tell in words... It is like explaining to a teetotaller why a cold beer is so nice on a hot day... I started with bands like Accept, Metal Church, Iron Maiden and Metallica in the eighties and I think I will still listen to them when I'm stone deaf and old...
