I’ve never heard of RAL before. I’ve tried to find them on Spotify, YouTube and Facebook, but to no avail. Turns out that they’re a trio, which can be a great thing. The vibes from the band are good and positive, but the performance is only partly approved. The style is Soundgarden-ish with a dose of Alice In Chains, and that’s not bad at all from the outset. However, the vocalist/bassist can’t really go where the ambitions are, which is a real shame. What works really well in instances is when the bassist and guitarist share the vocals. That’s where Ral are able to lift the level from mediocre to something that actually sounds really good.

When my old buddy Kenn Jensen asked me if I wanted to contribute to the new site he had created, then called powermetal.dk, I didn't hesitate. My love for metal music was and is great. I wrote my first review during the summer of 2004 (Moonspell's 'Antidote' album). In 2015, I took over the editor-in-chief role.
