Pretty Boy Floyd will to me always just be a nice footnote among the many hard rock bands that emerged in California in the late 1980s. They had a few fine songs and got noticed mostly for their image with their infamous 1989 album Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz, which is still considered to be one of the most important glam rock albums of its era.

And they have been over the years been faithful to the sound and traditions of the scene they were an important part of, and now that Frontiers Records have picked them up, they are ready to unleash another album packed with their take on glam rock made in California.

And they stay true to their roots and have managed to create an album that possesses all the trademarks and sounds of the aforementioned album, and even though this new album Public Enemies is no world-beater or bring anything new to the platter, it’s still pure and honest glam rock they it was meant to be.

The album has the vibe of the late 80s and it well executed and produced, but it won’t change the hard rock landscape – but less can do, so if you are on the lookout for some traditional glam rock then look no further…

Fine album!

When I kicked this site off back in 2003, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has become. I am very proud of what we've done and achieved over the years. Musically I have a soft spot for 80s inspired hard rock, but my favourite music and bands are all to be found in the progressive universe these days.
