RATING:

Frontiers Music is famous or infamous, depending on how you look at it, for putting people together in so-called supergroups and projects, and in some cases it works really well and in some not so well. Who haven’t enjoyed the Allen / Lande albums, which is just one of many constellations set up by Serafino Perugino.

Which leads us up to this new two singer project, sort of Italian version of Allen / Lande, fronted by Fabio Lione and Alessandro Conti and created, recorded and produced by Simone Mularoni (DGM), another musician with strong connections with Frontiers. Seeking out two of the strongest and best metal vocalists Italy has to offer and creating melodic power metal songs that features strong melody-lines and excellent guitar-work can only be a win/win situation, and it surely is…

Over the course of ten well crafted and produced songs, we are served exactly what a fine melodic power metal album needs to feature: strong vocals, sharp and precise hooks, strong melodies and a guitarist on top of his game.

The album goes from highlight to highlight, but if I have to pinpoint my personal highlights then I would pick out the excellent opener “Ascension”, which pretty much sums up what’s to come and “You’re Falling” with its strong Queensrÿche vibe. But there’s not a dull moment on this cool album, and the Italian variety of Allen / Lande is equally strong and exciting.

Well done!

When I kicked this site off back in 2003, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has become. I am very proud of what we've done and achieved over the years. Musically I have a soft spot for 80s inspired hard rock, but my favourite music and bands are all to be found in the progressive universe these days.
