Many old school Swedish death metal lovers find Left Hand Path and Like An Ever Flowing Stream, the holy grails of the typical Swedish style. Well, they are right, but they forget to mention one band. If you do not own Dark Recollections of the band Carnage, you should certainly look for it. It can’t be a coincidence that the second album of the band Lik carries that name.

Hailing from Stockholm their music is one big ode to early Entombed, Dismember and Carnage. With a modern production, the typical low tuned guitar riffs and the groovy drums the songs swing like a pair of tits. Add great melodic lead guitars and a great grunting voice and you know it is a feast for the ears. There are enough trying to follow up bands like Dismember, the lot try but don’t succeed. This band Lik is close to carry on the flag of old school Swedisch death!

It isn’t necessary to spoil more words, just enjoy the ride!

Once a metal head, always a metalhead. My parents thought it would only be a period, but they were wrong. I quit to explain the beauty of metal music to others that are not into metal, because it is something you can't tell in words... It is like explaining to a teetotaller why a cold beer is so nice on a hot day... I started with bands like Accept, Metal Church, Iron Maiden and Metallica in the eighties and I think I will still listen to them when I'm stone deaf and old...
