As a hard rock fans it’s not always easy to understand some business decisions made by some companies. Take this new debut album from Coreleoni, entitled ‘The Greatest Hits Part 1’. On surface it looks like a new band with all the confidence in the world, but if you look harder you’ll discover the true identity of this new project from Frontiers Music.

Main man behind this release is Leo Leoni, guitarist and founder of one of the longest serving and best known European Hard Rock bands around: Gotthard. And on this album he’s paying tribute to his own past; re-recording classic Gotthard songs. But with a twist off course: doing them all with another vocalist; Ronnie Romero (Lords of Black, Rainbow) and he does a fantastic job singing what I consider some of their best songs from the past.

Bringing new life to these songs works really well, and the sole new song “Walk on Water” fits right in. Isolated speaking this is a very cool hard rock album, but I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not you need new versions of these classic Gotthard songs.

When I kicked this site off back in 2003, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has become. I am very proud of what we've done and achieved over the years. Musically I have a soft spot for 80s inspired hard rock, but my favourite music and bands are all to be found in the progressive universe these days.
