Do know that feeling when you’ve been part of a music experience that is at the same time intense and warm? Neackbreakker (or Nakkeknaekker, as they used to be called) was a bunch of teenagers when they came together as a band in 2020. They still look immensely young to an old fart like myself, but, by Odin, they tear everything apart.
Are they innovative? Hm, no, not really. But the energy and command of the crowd they display is almost overwhelming. They’ve landed a support gig for Slayer in a couple of months. I can totally see why! See them before your mates!
The support for this tour of our wee country are called Galge. They are actually no less intense than their fellow Silkeborgians from Neckbreakker, but their songs are probably a tad less catchy, and they haven’t (yet?) been able to cause the same stir as tonight’s headliner.
An evening I needed. Loved it. There is hope for metal yet.
